Ryan McLeod
Foreman
Ryan has been building for around 13 years and has been with us for nearly two years. We are thrilled to have him as part of our team as a most capable foreman. Nothing stresses him out (believe you me, we’ve tried) and he gets on with whatever challenge is thrown at him. Our clients find him a calming influence on his projects and he’s an excellent communicator.
His wife has just had their second baby girl so even though he’s currently not getting a huge amount of sleep, he is still always his happy self. Ryan is another local family man, living in Shelly Park. Outside of building, he loves spearfishing although he is perhaps more accurate (thankfully) with a nail gun than a speargun.

Builder
Long has been building for 16+ years. Before he was a builder, he was a cabinetmaker for five years in Vietnam. He came to NZ as a refugee with his wife so this smiley man is incredibly resilient and he is extremely reliable and hardworking.
Long and his wife now have two sons and one cute little granddaughter. And there is another grandchild on the way; perfect as Long cherishes being a granddad. He loves working with us and we love having him on our team. His attention to detail is excellent so any extra tricky finishing work usually gets handed to Long.

Cam (Cameron) Irvine
Builder
Cam was a carpetlayer in his previous life and had a very successful business for a number of years. Cam is another team member that is happy tackling anything we throw at him and we’re lucky to have such a capable guy on our team. He loves framing and building decks and when asked what his least favourite jobs are; digging holes was about the only thing he could come up with. He has certainly taken to his new career and we have told him he’s not allowed to leave, he fits in so well with our team.
In the weekend he loves going for rides on his Yamaha road bike, he’s mad about cars and loves fishing and boating. You’ll find this young man charming and most helpful on site.

Building has been my passion for over 25 years. I’ve been successfully running my company for the last 20+ years. As a hardworking, qualified tradesman, I thrive on knowing I’ve done an excellent job and on building my reputation through referrals.
I consistently achieve this by working with honesty and integrity and ensuring I work with my clients to help them achieve their vision, on time and on budget.
Dina Heylen, Director & Operations Manager
Dina has been working alongside husband Phil for over 15 years and takes care of all the financial matters and liaises regularly with our clients. “Like Phil, I feel running a successful business means having satisfied customers and earning repeat business and referrals. We consistently manage to do this by bringing our honesty and integrity into everything we do. I have been married to Phil for 20 years and am Mum to our three girls.”

Colin's been with Superior Construction for 20 years and is the hardest working builder you'll find. He's been building for around 23 years and is very knowledgeable and competent.
Colin's is a true family man (he has three gorgeous kids and a lovely wife) and comes from a farming background - hence bred from good hard working stock!

Stu (Stuart) Foster
Builder
Stu has been building with us for 4 and half years and is a most enthusiastic member of our team. You’ll find him to be an absolutely excellent communicator and we have yet to find him in a bad mood.
Stu and his wife have two lovely pre-teen boys live locally in Howick. In his spare time, surprisingly, he still has energy for mountainbiking, fishing and loves to race radio controlled cars. Stu came from a marketing background and 5 years ago decided he needed a life change. We have a huge amount of respect for someone giving up their chosen and successful career to put happiness first. We’re certainly glad he made the change!
